PTA Reflections Art Contest 2016–17 Results

Thank you to all stu­dents who sub­mit­ted entries to this year’s PTA Reflec­tions Art Con­test! They all did a won­der­ful job!

There were 58 stu­dents who par­tic­i­pat­ed in the cat­e­gories of Visu­al Arts, Lit­er­a­ture, and Pho­tog­ra­phy. Judges includ­ed a com­mer­cial and wed­ding pho­tog­ra­ph­er and Uni­ver­si­ty of Hawaii art and art his­to­ry lec­tur­er. Judges rat­ed stu­dents on inter­pre­ta­tion, cre­ativ­i­ty, and tech­nique.

Visu­al Arts in the Pri­ma­ry Divi­sion (preschool through grade 2)
3rd place: Maken­na N for “My Favorite Place to Go”
2nd place: Bian­ca C for “My Beau­ti­ful Rain­bows”
1st place: Ai S for “My Dream”

Visu­al Arts in the Inter­me­di­ate Divi­sion (grade 3 through 5)
3rd place: Miki O for “The Bird that had Empa­thy”
2nd place: Cam­ren C for “Fall in New Eng­land”
1st place: Alexan­der C for “What is Your Sto­ry — Camp Erhorn”

Pho­tog­ra­phy Divi­sion
3rd place: Davin N for “Big Splash”
2nd place: Davin N for “Fish are Cool”
1st place: Seana L for “Sun Angel”

Lit­er­a­ture Divi­sion
1st place: Ema T for “The Two Sis­ters and the Mag­ic Wolf”

These pieces will be sub­mit­ted to the PTA region­al lev­el for judg­ing! A big con­grat­u­la­tions to our win­ners and to all the stu­dents who par­tic­i­pat­ed in this year’s Reflec­tions Art Con­test.
