As you may or may not know, the Liholiho PTA Fun Fair is just around the corner!  Thank you to everyone who has pre-ordered a shirt, scrips, food, and/or wristbands.  Although the t-shirt order period has passed, you can still order your scrips, food, and wristbands.  Another Fun Fair packet reminder will be sent home next week, look for it!

Also at this time, we are looking for high traffic areas where we can hang our Fun Fair vinyl banner to draw in more people to our event!  If you, your neighbor, or relative have a place where we can put up the banner (don’t worry, we’ll put it up and take it down), please let us know!  Contact us here and thank you again!

Good afternoon!

Your child should have received a packet today in their Thursday folder (see link below). We are in need of parents who can help us on the days before and the day of the Fun Fair! If every parent volunteers for one 2 hour shift, we will all have enough time to work the shift and enjoy the fair afterwards! Please let us know how you can help us by filling out the shift sign up form and turning it in by Fri., Jan. 17th! You are more than welcome to ask your friends, relatives, and neighbors. Thank you!

We are also looking for equipment to use on the day of the fair! We will be setting up the equipment on Friday afternoon and will be done with it by late Saturday afternoon! If you have any of the items listed on the sheet, we would greatly appreciate borrowing it for a day!

One last thing is that the t-shirt deadline has been extended to Mon., Jan 13th. The original form was sent out before the holiday break, so this is just a reminder that you still have time to order the Fun Fair t-shirt to wear on the day of the event!

If you have any questions whatsoever, please feel free to contact us!  Thank you for your supporting the students, teachers, and staff at Liholiho Elementary School!

I would like to extend my heartfelt MAHALO to those who have donated new and unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots.

Today is the day of the parade and here are some friendly reminders from Melissa T. (PTA Special Activities):

  • Don’t forget to be at Saint Louis School at about 4:45 pm.  The Waialae Gate closes at 5:50 pm.   All vehicles that arrive after 5:30 pm must exit via the upper campus at Kaminaka Dr.  The later you arrive, the more traffic there will be.
  • Wear your Liholiho shirt or a blue shirt.
  • Check-in with Melissa when you arrive.  Pre-ordered food and pompoms will be passed out at that time.  I will have some extra pompoms available to purchase.
  • Rain or shine, the parade will still go on!  If it’s raining, don’t forget your umbrellas!
  • Portable restroom facilities will be provided.  The ones in the Saint Louis gym will not be available.
  • Some participant parking is available in the parking structure, not around the oval grass area.  It is preferable to be dropped off.
  • The Kaimuki Business & Professional Association (KBPA) is responsible for holding this parade each year.  The main thing they would like to stress this year is for each group to stay together.  If you have previously walked in the parade, you may have noticed how our group is usually spread out about a block’s length :)  I am kindly asking for everyone to try to walk at the same pace as the people around you.  I know if’s hard, especially with little ones, but just do the best that you can.  There will be parade  marshals this year to help keep everyone together as well, so, hopefully, that will help! Thank you in advance!!!
  • SAFETY FIRST — There will be vehicle traffic counter flowing the parade direction, so have your child walk on the right side of the group.
