On Monday, there were 40 children absent from school. There seems to be many cases of the flu and illness going around. Mrs. Small would like to send out this flyer to help families Fight Flu and Germs!
It is quite hard for us to believe that the year has flown by so quickly! We are a little over 3 months away before the end of the school year!
One thing the PTA board needs to take care of on an annual basis is the recruitment of new PTA board members, who are enthusiastic about helping the school and our students achieve more!
I can personally tell you (Lawrence the web guy, here) that it has been a very fun and rewarding experience for me. The group of individuals that make up the board are an incredibly talented and hard-working bunch! I have really enjoyed working with ALL of them for the past 5 years (through school furloughs, school consolidations, and a spectacular Fun Fair) and I look forward to continue working with them next year!
Unfortunately, parents need to leave the board due to their child graduating or personal obligations they need to fulfill and we do need to address these vacancies.
WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP in filling these vacancies! If yourself or someone you know would like to join our board, please contact us and we can provide more information to you! For the next school year, we will have the following positions open on the board:
May Meeting Chair
March Meeting Chair
Thank you for making it this far into the message! Please feel free to contact us or email email@example.com with any questions you may have or if you’d like to nominate yourself, a friend, or family member!
Get ready to lace up those running shoes because the Keiki Run is here! The 2015 Keiki Great Aloha Run on February 14, 2015 is a great way for the whole family to spend an active and healthy morning together. The race is a safe, 2-mile run around the Neal Blaisdell Center and McKinley High School that is open to students in grades K-5 along with their family and friends. There will be many race day events including the Great Aloha Run Fitness Expo, pre and post-race festivities, and demonstrations of school fitness activities. Students and families can walk, run, or stroll at their own pace.
This is a great opportunity to also help raise money for our PE program here at Liholiho! For every person registered under Liholiho Elementary School, the Keiki Run will donate $15 per person back to our PE program! Last year we raised enough money to buy new jump ropes, soccer balls, and a stereo system to play music while we exercise during class! This year we plan on buying even more great equipment for our students to use to stay physically active!
To register for this great event, go to https://flpregister.com/125.
After registering online, please fill out the bottom portion of the attached flier and return to your teacher or the school office.
For more information on this event, please see the attached flier or contact us!
Good morning and Happy New Year!
The holiday season is over and now life (and school) resumes and yes, that includes new postings for the new year!
Attached to this post is a flyer that went out to Grs. 3, 4, and 5 students. Three principals will be visiting Liholiho on Thursday, Jan. 22 and will be providing information as well as answering any questions regarding middle school. If you are interested, please fill out the form and return it to your child’s teacher.
Yesterday, the Kaimuki Symphonic Winds Band, made up of Kaimuki Middle students, stopped off at Liholiho to entertain teachers, staff, and students with their musical talents. A good number of the performers were Liholiho students 2 to 3 years ago! Here are a few pictures of yesterday’s events. Thank you Arlene for sharing your pictures!

Sorry for the late notice. Today, the Kona Shave Ice truck will be on campus at 12:30PM. The pricing for the shave ice runs:
$3.00 for small
$4.00 for medium
$5.00 for large
A portion of the sales will be donated to the Liholiho Laulima PTA.
Also, tonight the Book Fair will be held in the library from 5:00PM — 7:00PM. Your child may have come home with a wish list of books to buy. Please stop by to look at all the selections and a percentage of all proceeds goes back to Liholiho school as well!
AND, a special thank you to ALL who were able to make it to CPK yesterday! We hope that you enjoyed your dinner while raising much needed funds for our school! Thank you again!
FYI, there is a correction that needs to be made on the previous CPK (California Pizza Kitchen) Fundraiser Flyer that was posted on Oct. 15th:
The Fundraiser Flyer is only good at the KAHALA location. All other locations will NOT be participating.
The new flyer is below and we apologize for the error. We are hoping that your family still plan on going to CPK (dine-in or take out) on Tuesday, 10/28 to support the Liholiho Laulima PTA! If you do, please remember to bring the flyer with you!
On Monday, 11/10, there will be a free CPR & AED Awareness Class that will be held at Waialae School Dining Hall. If you are interested in attending, please turn in the flyer below by Wed., 10/29.
Tomorrow is Liholiho’s Food Day & Fitness Fair! Students will get to exercise their bodies and also samples delicious and healthy snacks during the event!
Please have your child:
Just a reminder that tomorrow is a FULL DAY of school and it will end normally at 2:15PM.
We hope that your children are enjoying their Fall Intersession.
I’d like to thank Corene F. (parent) for bringing up the question about the PTA Reflections Contest rules. John Shiroma, our Reflections committee chairperson, will send out flyer with more information will be going out next week Thursday (I believe) when school resumes.
In the meantime, if you are interested in the rules and theme of the contest, you can find it here:
