Today is Mrs. Atsuko’s last day with Liholiho. A farewell to her was held in the Hawaiian garden and she was presented with leis and gifts. The students also sang the school song and Hawai’i Pono’i.
She thanked everyone in English and said goodbye and thank you in Japanese. Thank you Mrs. Atsuko for your time at Liholiho! We will miss you.

In this past Thursday’s folder, your child received a flyer regarding Dr. Art Costa’s Habits of Mind workshop. This year, the workshop will be held at Waikiki Elementary School on Mon., Dec. 9th.
It is an informative workshop that explains the “Habits of Mind” that Liholiho implements into their class curriculum at school.
If you are interested in attending, please turn in your form by Wed., Dec. 4th. Thank you!
Ronald McDonald stopped by school today to frown upon bullying. He passed on some phrases to the children, which hopefully all of them picked up on:
Be a good friend.
Believe in yourself.
Be a buddy not a bully.

Mr. Towata’s math class was in the news last night! The news story was about the tremendous growth of Hawaii’s public schools math scores. If you missed it, that’s ok, just click on the Hawaii News Now link below and watch it at your convenience!

Don’t forget about the Halloween Costume Swap Drop off which happens today from 2:30 – 4:30PM and on Monday, the Swap will take place on 10/21 from 3:00 – 4:30PM in the library.

Dear Liholiho Elementary School,
This is an importance notice that Foodland’s Give Aloha program will be extended by one day! All Foodland, Sack N Save and Foodland Farms stores will accept donations through tomorrow tonight, October 1st – at store’s closing or midnight, if a 24-hour store.
We encourage you to spread the word to your supporters, and be sure to remind them that donations must be made with a Maikai card.
