Yesterday, an event was held to thank teachers, staff and volunteers for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.

Makua Manu led grades 3 and 4 in a Hawaiian chant, and also led lower grade levels in a “Liholiho Sings to You” performance. Grade 5 gave a preview of their graduation song along with Mr Magnenat and a student band.

Teachers, staff and volunteers were treated to lunch and ice cream.

The video didn’t pick up the song very well, so just imagine Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” playing in the background!)

Hello Liholiho Ohana,

Hope you’re enjoying the last week of school! We have a bunch of pictures to share with you. First, here are pictures from the service group field trip which was to Tiki’s Family Fun Center. Service groups include JPO’s, JOA’s (Junior Office Assistants), Student Council, and Peer Mediators. You will be proud to know that our Liholiho students were commended by Tiki’s staff for their outstanding behavior! So kudos to our students!

Hello Liholiho Ohana,

As the school year comes to an end, some of you may be thinking about giving something to your child’s teacher and/or staff. Please remember, it is not necessary and by no means do any of the employees expect gifts from the students and families who attend Liholiho. However, if you feel compelled to give something to your child’s teacher and/or staff member, please remember the following State Ethics Commission’s gift guidelines:

1. The state’s gift guidelines provide that the following are acceptable (These guidelines may not apply for employees whose official duties include procurement):

“Gifts of Aloha” – modest gifts of nominal value traditionally given as part of Hawaiian culture as a gesture of aloha or goodwill such as a flower lei or a box of cookies to share with the office – and other gifts of nominal value such as small promotional business items (e.g. pens with company logo).

Meals and “Food and Drink” types of events valued at under $25. This limit applies to the whole event.

What does this means is? Please keep your gift value under $25.

  1. Tomorrow (Tuesday March 14) is the CPK Fundraising Event! Bring your flyer to the Kahala Mall CPK and get 20% or your order given back to our PTA! Take a break from cooking and order/eat out (and support PTA at the same time)! Here’s the flyer if you need it:

  2. We have an upcoming Read-a-thon for Spring Break. Your child should be bringing home a packet on Thursday, so be on the lookout for it! Or click here for a copy:

  • Flu Crew Volunteer Form
    The Liholiho Flu Clinic is on Friday, February 3. If you would like to volunteer, please fill out and return the form by Wednesday, January 25. If you can’t find your copy of the form, please click here.
  • Spring Portrait Form
    Return the form to your child’s teacher and indicate whether you want to participate in the spring portrait program. Portrait day is Thursday February 2.

    • 1.5-mile run around the Neal Blaisdell Center & McKinley High School.
    • For students in grades K-5 along with their families and friends.
    • $15 from each registration will be returned to Liholiho’s PE program (you must designate Liholiho as the school to support!)
    • Event t-shirt and healthy breakfast for all who register!
