Good morning,

In today’s Star Advertiser, there is an article titled “Schools get better grades” and it lists Liholiho (with an index score of 341; the higher, the better) as a “Recognition” school.

A “Recognition” school is defined as “Top 5 percent of schools” and “Only the highest-performing and highest growth schools in achievement, graduation and achievement gaps are eligible.”  There are only 14 “Recognition” schools in the entire state!

So a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to all the students, parents, teachers, and staff for all their effort and hard work and never resting on their laurels!  Give yourself a pat on the back as well!

Just FYI, you need a Star Advertiser login to view the link above or you can just purchase a copy of today’s paper.

Thank you!

Just want to put a bug in your ear that the BOUTIQUE SALE IN THE LIBRARY TOMORROW, 4:00-5:45 pm and 6:50-8:00 pm is awesome. We just finished sorting everything and you will not believe the quality of this stuff!

Name brands items–Ferragamo, Prada, Todd’s shoes, Coach, Harvey’s (seatbelt) bags, tons of designer brand name tops, bottoms, skirts and dresses!! Everything is $1, $2, or $3!! Better deals the more you buy.

Pzazz Consignment store in Kahala Mall donated thousands of dollars-worth of merchandise to Liholiho and we are practically giving it away in this PTA fundraiser sale! For instance…there are at least 5 pairs of Frankie B. jeans that retail for $300 each going for only $2!

Don’t miss out! Get in early for $10 at 3:30 pm to get first dibs on the best picks of the loot. The sale starts at 4 pm and goes until 5:45 pm. Then we’ll close for the PTA meeting in the cafeteria and open back up again at 6:50 pm, after the 2nd grade musical.

Score the best deals on the island! Children’s clothes, women’s career and party attire, accessories and a small selection of men’s clothing.

We do have some good news!  The Hawaii 5-2-1-0 Keiki Run, which was held on President’s Day weekend, raised a total of $1,485.00 for the school PE program!  There was a total of 99 participants in the school!

The total amount was the third highest among all the schools who participated in the events!  Thank you all for getting a good workout and helping Liholiho out with much needed funds for the Mr. Holden’s physical education program!
