King Liholiho Elementary School along with its teachers, students, staff, and PTA Board would like to extend a BIG MAHALO to Mr. Justin Alford and Mrs. Laura Alford for being “caring community contributors” in helping our school raise much needed funds for the past 3 years! Their commitment and dedication in helping our small school in the heart of Kaimuki leaves us speechless and grateful for their kindness and generosity!
Two years ago, Mr. Alford (a Washington native) stumbled upon our website while looking for discounts for the Hapalua (half-marathon) race. He noticed that our school was running a small fundraiser for Hapalua participants, so he took it upon himself to raise some money for our school. Little did we know that his Herculean fundraising efforts would pay off BIG time!
For the past 3 Hapalua races (2015 — 2017), the Alfords have raised over $5,600!
Thanks to their generosity, we were able to purchase a new PA system for the cafeteria and also will be able to purchase new walkie-talkies for our school staff!
We’d like to express our deepest gratitude and also thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Mahalo Nui Loa!

We were so lucky to welcome Justin and Laura to our April PTA Board meeting! They were in Hawaii for the Hapalua race, of course. They found time to stop by before heading back to Washington. We presented them with leis and a gift basket (a small gift for their huge fundraising efforts)!
