February 2018

Aloha Liholiho Families & Friends!

Below is a list of items teachers and staff would like to have available in their classrooms but are not covered by their limited budget.  All donations are used for the benefit of the students at Liholiho Elementary School and become property of the school.  If you would like to donate new or gently used items, or if you know of businesses and organizations willing to donate items, our school community would be very grateful.  You may drop-off donations directly to the teacher/staff member or in the PTA box located in the school office.  Please be sure to put your name, student’s name, room number and teacher/grade the donation is for so that you can be properly acknowledged for your generous contribution.  If you have any questions, please contact Heather Florendo at donations@liholiholaulima.org.

Hello Liholiho Ohana,

The Warrior Run is coming up quick! It’s next week Wednesday, February 21. (Weather is supposed to get better!) Kids have been preparing for months by running and exercising during P.E., so they are ready to go! Don’t forget to use this weekend to get sponsors! (You don’t have to collect money until after the run.) There are also special prizes to be awarded!

Two winners per grade level will be announced after the pledge sheets and
donations are collected.

The top students in each grade who collect the most money in donations or who

community business partners.

In case you can’t find your Warrior Run packet, you’re in luck! (click below):

Liholiho Warrior Run!

Hello Liholiho Ohana,

It’s that time of year again! Instead of the Walk-a-thon, we’re having a Liholiho Warrior Run! Woohoo! It will be held on our Wellness Day, February 21, 2018. This is your chance to get fit and have fun with your friends. 100% of the funds students raise will go directly to the school PTA to benefit our students.

Our goal this year is to raise $30,000! That is a BIG number, but with your support, the Liholiho Warriors can achieve anything! With our smaller fundraising efforts earlier this school year, we were able to raise $13,000. If each student is able to collect $50 in donations, we will be able to reach our $30,000 goal. Money raised helps fund:

  • Part-time teachers
  • Special events such as May Day, Christmas parade
  • Various school improvements
  • Curriculum support
  • JPO and other service groups
  • And so much more…

Please see flyer below for information. (This packet was also sent home in the Thursday 2/8 folder.)

If you have any questions, please contact fundraising@liholiholaulima.org.

Mahalo everyone!
