Liholiho Food & Fitness Day Video

Hi everyone,

Thank you to David and Shayna Kusumoto for putting together a wonderful video showcasing the highlights of the Food and Fitness Day event that was held on October 19.

Enjoy and have a great week!

Liholiho Food Day & Fitness Fair from David Kusumoto on Vimeo.

Food Day is a nationwide celebration and a movement for healthy, affordable, and sustainable food. To celebrate Food Day (which is officially October 24), Liholiho is hosting a Food & Fitness Fair for students and their families on Friday, October 19, 2012. The goals were 1) to introduce students to a variety of vegetables and teach parents various ways of preparing them 2) to encourage active lifestyles and fun ways to grow strong and healthy kids and families. It was a great success.

Book Fair Night starring Kalani Ahmad

Last night, we were fortunate in having Kalani Ahmad, who is a proud Liholiho alumni and also appeared on “America’s Got Talent”, join us and show us his amazing basketball skills!  He talked about “Habits of Mind”, perseverance, and persistence in school and life!  Never Give Up!

After the performance, doors to the book fair opened up and there was a mad rush of adults and children lining up to purchase their favorite titles while supporting the school at the same time!  Thank you so much for helping Liholiho raise funds to purchase more SMART Boards!

In case you missed it, here are 2 clips from last night’s performance showcasing Kalani’s amazing talent! Enjoy!

Have a safe and fun Halloween!
